Obituary for Celestine Covington

Celestine Covington (Bellamy) was born to the late Saul and Mamie Lee Bellamy in Brooksville, Florida. The family moved to Volusia County and this is where it all began.
She attended local schools which included Euclid High School and Southwestern Junior/Senior High School. While attending local schools she met and married the late Royce Phil Covington and had two daughters.
Celestine left the area and moved to Brevard County. She later received her high school diploma at Monroe High School Adult Education Center. She began her career at Wuestoff Memorial Hospital as an Environmental Specialist and also at Merritt Manor Nursing Home as a CNA until she became ill and eventually totally disabled with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Celestine and her two daughters returned to Deland in March 1985.
In 1995, she became a faithful member of St. Paul Community Church.
Celestine was preceded in death by a 2 siblings; Donice Bellamy and Walter Lee Bellamy, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters: Charetta Covington and Catherine Michelle Covington Maddox (George), both of Deland, FL. Three grandchildren: Shamar Covington, Alexis Maddox and George Maddox, Jr. A special like daughter: Tammy Tharpe.
Sibling Mourning: Dorothy Lee Graham (Herbert), Deland, FL., Robert Lee Bellamy (Beverly), Merritt Island, FL., John Henry Bellamy (Dawn), Syracuse, N.Y., a devoted friend just like a sister, Diane Devoe and a huge host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws, and wonderful friends.
