Charlie Wyche was born March 26, 1918 in Live Oak, Florida to the late Henry Wyche and Dora Ivey.
He attended the public schools of Taylor County. He moved to Volusia County in 1948 and worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years.
In 1952, he joined St. Annis Primitive Baptist Church under Elder T. R. Griffin. He was set aside as a deacon under Elder P. L. Jones, and was ordained under Elder John L. Canady. Deacon Wyche served as an Usher, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee Board Chairman, and Deacon Board Chairman for over 25 years. He also served on the Fellowship Deacon Board and Layman in the following areas of the Primitive Baptist, District, Church School Convention, East Florida Association and Florida State Convention.
Deacon Charlie Wyche was married to the late Mother Pauline Nealy Wyche on August 18, 1954 and to this union, five children were born.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Children, Ann Johnson (Jim, deceased), Miami, Fl., Linda Brown (Charles), Daytona Beach, Fl., Michael Wyche, DeLand, Fl., Ricky Wyche (Jayne), Augusta, Ga., Patricia Hill, DeLand, Fl.; daughter-in-law, Carrie Deloris Wyche, Lakeland, Fl., brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Nealy (Sarah), Jimmy Nealy (Annette), Eddie Nealy, James Nealy, sister-in-law, Joann Pinnoch, all of DeLand, Fl., God-daughter, Reverend Ethel Brown, Deltona, Fl. Also eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, eight, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wyche; sisters, Cassie Newsome, Bertha Lee; sons, Charlie Wyche, Jr., Jerry Wyche; daughters, Doris Watkins, Barbara Jean Cross; granddaughters, Vikki Lowe, Rhonda Knox, Laceth Luke; brother-in-law, Allen King, Bernard Nealy and sister-in-laws, Martha Nealy, Rachel Martin and Floretta Thorton.
