Obituary for Dahlia Mae Brown

Dahlia Mae Williams was born in Deland, Florida on November 2, 1931 to Homer and Emily Williams; both deceased.
She went to be with her Savior on August 31, 2019. Preceding her in death is her sister Faith Broadnax. She has a sister Joan Adams in South Carolina.
Dahlia married Robert Brown (deceased). This union produced six children: Robert, Flavia, Eugene, Anthony, Andrea and Daniel (Beryl). She also raised grandchildren: Fiona Brown, Danny Brown, Jr., and DeShaunn Brown.
She attended Greater Union First Baptist Church, DeLand, FL. She served diligently on the Mission, Usher, and Kitchen/Culinary Ministries for many years. She was also a Parent Volunteer for three generations, and a faithful lifelong member. She was a decedent of one of the founding families of Greater Union and a valuable resource for church history.
Community affiliations include Order of Eastern Stars.
She worked at West Volusia Memorial Hospital, (Advent Hospital) in DeLand, Fl., for 31 years. She retired as a Certified Dietary Manager.
Dahlia was loved by many. Her passion for catering and cooking for others was a joy to her. She made beautiful wedding cakes as well. She loved people and helped anyone that needed her. She was kind, loving, patient, giving and strong. She will be missed by many. She will be missed by many.
Dahlia leaves her children to cherish precious memories along with her: Sister, Joan Adams, South Carolina; Brother-in-law, Charles Broadnax, Orlando; Grandchildren she raised, Fiona Guyton (Renico), Danny Brown and Deshaunn Brown. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and one great-great granddaughter, Rylee Ward (19 months). Many other family members, friends, and people who loved her.
